 It is a known fact that Steven Gerrard of Liverpool played a pivotal role in keeping Luiz Suarez at Liverpool FC for another season despite persistent interest from Arsenal.What is not known however is that the current Blaugrana player has no regrets dumping the Londoners.

  It will be recalled that the Gunners had offered a  40 million + 1 pounds deal which was rejected by the Reds and the Uruagyan had revealed that the former England Captain had prevented him from from making a Big mistake.

   Says Suarez, "It would have been a big error that I would have made had it not been for Steven Gerrard", he wrote in his new autobiography.

   He continues, "we spoke about this when i went to Melwood (Liverpools training ground) to pick up my things at the end of the Summer and he said, 'You did the right thing, you waited until the best moment'.

   "He told me to play well for Liverpool, give it another year and it will be Bayern Munich, Real Madrid or Barcelona coming for youand then you can go where[ever] you want, because you have the quality to play at any of those three clubs".
